Simple Microscope in Physics Lab?
I conducted this experiment where you use two optical lenses to build a simple microscope. I need to describe what I observed with my microscope, but I'm not sure if i observed correctly since it was hard to focus on my eyes.
Is the object supposed to look real or virtual? upright or inverted? reduced or enlarged?
I know it looked inverted and definitely enlarged.
the object I observed through the microscope was just an image of an arrow drawn on the light-through screen. The microscope was built by arranging light source-object-48mm lenss-127mm lens in order by calcultaing p and q distances. Thank you!
It's an experiment. Write down what you observed, not what someone else tells you they think you should observe. I've never heard of a reducing microscope, but I guess they could exist. Whether the image is inverted depends on the design of the microscope. It's convenient if the image isn't inverted. With an inverted image, I found I was always moving the slide the wrong way. Try varying the spacings of the lenses to help your eye focus, and also to see what difference it makes.
